For a Little While...Because Everything in Life is...is a movement! Cura Personalis is my Homeschool. In my homeschool I will teach and develop 2 socially conscious little boys who will learn how to meet their needs and the needs of their community through grassroot fundraising initiatives.

1/2 of all monetary donations will go to people in need. The other half helps meet the initiatives of For a Little While Cura Personalis Homeschool.
What you will find under inventory will be a picture of the available item(s), number of items, notes on the item(s), a place to call dibs on the item(s) and delivery/pick-up options.
On Monday, August 10, 2020, I was officially approved by the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction to homeschool my two youngest boys, Wauchie (2nd grade) and Mystic (1st grade).
When I was in grad school, I wrote a sort of children's book about my Dad. I hope I'll be able to make it presentable to share 1 day soon.
"A Room without books is like a body without a soul."~ Marcus Tullius Cicero~ I am big on books. Be sure to visit our children's book room. Did I mention I love books?
· How are the “people in need” identified?
We have what we call spotters .
Locally
Durham NC
Chapel Hill NC
Raleigh NC
Roxboro NC
Greensboro NC
Mebane NC
Our spotters simply identify people needing help and bless them with donations if available.
· Do we accept material donations?
Not presently. As the movement grows, and demand necessitate the need for more supplies, eventually.
· Where does the other half of monetary donations go?
Overhead: packaging, shipping, delivery, advertisements, and to help meet the needs of Cura Personalis.
· Can monetary donations alone be given?
YES! Please and thank you! Half will always be given away.
Them Green Boys
We got kids, a pond and a homeschool. What an awesome combination. We are all about educating our children in the most hands on, eco-friendly, socially conscious way possible. Science consists of observations and experiments to learn and understand how the world works.
As a part of Cura Personalis It is our hope to raise money and/or have services donated to create an accessible year round space that includes a stocked pond where we can observe the eco-system in our own front yard!
This will be the start of an initiative where people can come and donate money to fish in the pond or just visit to listen and observe the wondrous and beautiful nature of country life.
½ of all monetary donations will always go to people in need!
Heard of the Trail of Tears? Understandably, some have not, as it is not a happy topic and has not traditionally been taught in schools as a part of American history. Cura Personalis is committed to telling this part of America’s history to our two guys because it's not only crucial to painting an accurate account of what happened to Native Americans here in the United States, but it will help them learn about their Native American ancestors, specifically, my Dad, their granddad, whom they didn’t get to meet before he passed only a couple of years before Wauchie was born.
We hope to purchase a trailer, hitch it to my Joe’s jeep and hit the trails, going on adventures, expeditions, excursions and traveling these great lands! Who knows, we might deliver sweet potatoes or other goods to those in need, or pick up a group of travelers to camp out and do some storytelling under the stars.
Can’t you see it now, roasting marshmallows, sipping on hot chocolate, tents up and a trailer behind us, listening to some knowledgeable elders tell us a story or two.
Our beloved Mystic was first diagnosed with being on the Autism Spectrum Disorder right before he turned two when we were living in Wisconsin. What a journey this has been for us. He is the most precious, sweetest simplistically complicated angel in the entire universe. There are so many things that have helped this little guy make so much progress. As we travel these unknown roads, there will be times when we will hold a fundraiser to purchase things that will help him grow into an independent contributing well rounded citizen, or to visit places that will expose him to the many opportunities that await him in this life. He is my outside of the box compass….1 thing I am sure of…he will be the best Mystic God created Him to be!
Our love for sweet potatoes or yams, combined with our love for the INIMITABLE ROBERT NESTA MARLEY and everything he stood for, sparked a dream of having a small little food station called, WEE YAMMIN…and it’s everything YAMS!
We will host a series of on the go food items for purchase, perhaps on Bob’s birthday or anything that we can link to spreading love!!!! As with all of our initiatives, ½ of all monetary donations will go to people in need and the rest to support the initiatives of Cura Personalis.
Get ready to yam it up with Bob…One Love! One heart…let’s get together and feel alright!
This initiative is a long term ambition of mine. Before Covid-19 reared its ugly head, my desire was to design a place that involved moms, dads, caregivers, children, play and coffee. Let’s let this marinate while we develop other attainable features of For A Little While first.
Deanna Carson Parrish was my dear friend. She introduced me to my husband Joe. When our child Wauchie was born, we gave him the middle name Dean to honor her. Deanna passed away on March 24, 2020. Leaving behind her husband, Daaron, daughter Krystal and sons, Bryan, Kyler and Connor. Deanna gave so much to her family, friends and community. She was all about family. She was the hostess with the mostest! A true Diva who loved children, hosting get togethers, sponsoring families at Christmas and she was just a resourceful person, full of life and love and she gave to everyone she met.
Due to Covid-19, those that knew her and loved her never really got a chance to grieve our lost or even gather just to feel her spirit as she transitioned from this earth to her heavenly home. As a part of honoring all the good things and people and love Deanna left behind, it is with great honor and joy I dedicate an annual fundraiser in her name to collect money and other helpful needed items to assist a person, family or initiative to carry out her dream of seeing people flourish, thrive and prosper. The fundraiser will be called Deanna’s Dynasty, because that is what she embodied, a dynasty, filled with people that share the commonality of love, hope and peace in their hearts and the desire to share with others.
God willing, the first annual gathering to kickoff this event will be in March 2021!
We grow as we go…

Wauchie is the impetus for our desire to help people in need under the auspices of For a Little While. Since before he was able to read, he has always wanted to go back and help the people holding up signs asking for help. My sweet boy.❤

This page is dedicated to my family and friends to post contact information and a description of their gifts and talents to share with the world.
This is my Buttons! The very best dog in thewhole entire world. Buttons is 12 years old. My Dad gave me Buttons before he passed. He told me I should have named him Joseph because he had a coat of many colors. His name remains Buttons but my beloved husband's name is Joseph! 😊
Buttons needs buddies so eventually I will create a tab where people can share pics of their pets on Button's page. We'll call it Button's Buddies!
Your support and contributions will enable us to meet our goals and improve conditions. Your generous donation will fund our mission.
This may not be the best picture...we are rarely in 1 place at the same time...I had to take it when I finally had the chance. These 4 guys and 1 little princess are my WORLD! I am so blessed and privileged to be able to call them mine! There are no words to express just how amazed I am at their talents, personalities, character and integrity. They are my inspiration and my hope for a better tomorrow and future for all the world. My Gavin is a graduate of my alma mater UNC-CH and The Chicago School, Serena is a senior at N.C. A&T and my bonus son Michael is a senior at Dartmouth College. I am so proud of the young adults that they are. They have helped me and continue to help me in my journey to educate their little brothers Wauchie and Mystic...Joe's and my later in life blessings. Their support means everything to me. They keep me grounded. They help me behind the scenes, Michael with technology...thank you dear heart for setting up the boys Ipads, my computer and printer. Serena, thank you for setting up my phone and the countless conversations we have about EVERYTHING! 😜 and my Gavin...thank you for your spirit, your humor and forever being my parenting gauge. I love you all and I apologize in advance for using you in my examples to come of my parenting bloops and blunders as I share our journey with the world.
